Team Press ReleaseFebruary 24

Team Pedercini’s Superbike riders Matteo Baiocco and Roger Lee Hayden completed a tough but successful two test day at Phillip Island to be ready for the first  round of the World Superbike Championship that will be held on the Australian circuit  from 26th to 28th February 2010. The team was anxious to take every chance to  continue the development of the ZX10R Kawasaki bikes of the two young riders. New  recruit Matteo Baiocco was on board the Kawasaki ZX10R for the first time and so far  he and the team are satisfied with the results achieved. The Italian rider has spent  time working with the team to set the bike up according to his riding position and
style. Teammate Hayden continued the work schedule he started with his technical  staff in Portimao test. In the aggregate results of the two test days Baiocco reached the twenty third place (1,35,663) while Hayden was twenty fourth (1,35,763).

Roger Lee Hayden :

”I’m happy about the results of these two test days.  I learned a  new track on a new bike and I worked with my team testing some new set up . Now  I’m more comfortable on my bike and I’m starting to understand how to take  advantage from the Pirelli tyres. My lap times were not so fast, but in these two days I  improved my best lap time for more than two seconds and I’m sure I’ll be able to  continue to improve also in the next race weekend.  We still have a lot of work to do,  but the team is doing a great job and I’d like to thank all of my technicians for their  great help”.

Matteo Baiocco :

”We are glad to have been able to test here at Phillip Island for  these two days. The first day was difficult for me because it was my first time on the  Pedercini’s  Kawasaki bike and also because I didn’t ride a racing motorbike since  some months ago. Overall it’s been a good test for us over two hard days. We found  some improvements and I felt more comfortable with the bike.. My team worked really  hard so big thanks to them. After these test in Phillip Island we have lots of new
information and for sure the tests have proven to be a good preparation for the first  championship races”.
